I lay my head to rest at the feet of a giant,
the winds cold lullaby, it cradles me to sleep.
The branches bow before the king under the mountain,
as the roots, they choke me with their merciless embrace.

My antlers, they turn to gold as the earth
crowns a new son of the twilight.
Black wings, they carry me deeper than
I ever imagined possible,
reforged beyond grief.

Eons they pass, as flesh returns to dust,
until the next king of the ether
takes his seat in the underworld.
